My goodness, it's been a long time since I've written anything. We have been a little crazy busy and overwhelmed.
On December 19th, I dropped Lily off in Greenville with my parents and drove out to Madison. Bryan and his dad also drove there from Atlanta that same day. We packed, cleaned, etc all weekend and closed on December 23rd. We stayed with my friends in Madison. I am not good with goodbyes and boo-hoo'ed the whole weekend because I didn't want to go, so I was quite emotional about the whole thing.
We sold our house to first-time homebuyers and they put us through the ringer!! Even at the closing, they were causing issues about very small things even though they'd already moved some belongings into our house! The closing took almost 2 hours!! We were so glad to be done!
We drove back to Atlanta afterwards--Bryan drove a 26 foot U-Haul truck pulling an 8 foot U-Haul trailor. I followed in the GEICO car--needless to say, I was a nervous wreck the whole time. We got to Atlanta and Bryan's dad, brother and brother-in-law, Ardwin, met us at the storage unit to help unpack. I continued to Greenville that night. They didn't finish unpacking until midnight and I didn't get to Greenville until about 12:30--it was a very LONG day for all of us. We are so grateful for everyone's help with the move!!
Lily did great with my parents! They said she would ask for Mommy periodically, but they could distract her. She slept through the night every night. So, of course the first night that I'm back, she wakes up crying at 3:30 and doesn't go back to sleep. I went in to pat her at 5:30 and she was so happy to see me that we were just up for the day at that point. I was pretty happy to see her too!
Bryan then came to Greenville the next day, which was Christmas Eve. We went to a Christmas party that night, I helped my sister wrap presents and we went to bed!! We woke up the next morning and Santa had visited!!! He brought Lily just a few presents, including an Elmo which talks and dances and which she absolutely hates with everything in her. She runs from the room if she even thinks you might press the button!
Now we're back in Atlanta and we are still getting settled into Bryan's dad's house. We originally had planned on using the realtor who sold our house when we moved to Mississippi, but it has become clear lately that she is not at all familiar with this area, and since we don't know this area, we want a realtor who is very familiar with this area. I just "fired" our realtor over e-mail so now we're on the hunt for a new one.
I went to my first MOMS Club of Acworth this morning. It was at Monkey Joe's and despite Lily falling and getting a fat lip, we had a great time. The moms seem really nice so far. In Madison, we had about 60+ moms and had activities about 2-3 days a week. In Acworth, there are only about 20 moms, but they do activities every day, so there are some differences, but I am excited to have these activities to go to again. We will keep you posted on how things go from here.
