Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Caroliney is holding her turkey hat--she would NOT keep it on her head. It's almost as if she doesn't like to be dressed up and laughed at. Odd. 

It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas!!

This costume is meant for 9-12 month sized babies. If you could see the back, the whole thing is wide open and the baby's legs are supposed to be zipped all of the way up in the tree. BUT, I think it looks super cute on Lils as well!!!! Can't wait to put it on Caroliney as well.



This is Lily and Caroline's purple Christmas tree. We got it for Lily last year because it was too cute to resist. Lily now knows it's for both her and C. We stole the tradition of giving her a new ornament for it from Aunt Johanna and this year the girls got a whole set of princess ornaments.

Playing Outside

Though it feels very wrong, we are enjoying these warmer temps.  Especially with our new deck, we are taking advantage of it and being outside.  Both girls LOVE to be outside.

She has recently learned to go up stairs and can go all the way up the staircase inside.

Lils and Sammy.  Sammy has been sick lately.  Though we think she's going to rebound again.  This is the second time in the last 6 months that we've been thinking we were going to have to say our goodbyes to her and it, we think, is the second false alarm.  She is almost 13 years old and is having some issues, but we are keeping our fingers crossed that she'll recover from her most recent illness and we'll get to keep her for a little while longer. 

Our new deck!!!!

My wonderful parents came to visit and my dad, Bryan and a man that we hired built our new huge deck in 2 days!!!  We love it and have been spending a lot of time out there since the weather has been so fabulous.  Before our deck, we had nothing out there, since we had the awful patio that was here when we bought the house removed.  So essentially we would just hang out in our mud pit.  Now we have lots of plans for cook-outs.  The man who helped to build the deck also built our fence.  He is very nice and a very hard worker.  He was very kind to Lily while he was here and would help her in the yard and talk to her.  When he was done on the last day and we were all telling him bye, she went up and hugged him goodbye.  It was very sweet.

You know how everyone always says that all you should get babies for Christmas is a wrapped box because that's what they like best anyway...  I think we can extend that to 3 year olds as well.  A present came for Caroliney in this box and Lils had a great time playing in it...until she wanted her mom and her sister to get in it along with her and it broke.  Oh well!!

Sleepy Girl

Some of my mom's friends knitted (crocheted???  I don't know the difference.) this blanket for Lily when I was pregnant with her.  Lily always loved her Taggie and so that became her blanket that she is bonded to.  I started giving Caroline this blanket at an early age...you aren't really supposed to give them a blanket that early, but she hated to be cold so much that I wanted to cover her with something and this seemed like a good option since there are lots of holes.  Now she LOVES it, as you can tell. 

Beautiful Girls

One of the best parts of having 2 girls is matching clothes!!  I don't even do totally matching clothes, but I do like to coordinate their outfits on occasion...you know, same dress or shirt but different colors.  I think they both look very beautiful!!! 

Lily's Thanksgiving Play

Caroliney and I went to Lily's school for her Thanksgiving play.  We didn't get a good seat this year and so I didn't get to see Lily's actual performance, but we did get to see her walk in and she looked adorable. 

Pulling-Up

Several weeks ago, when I took these pictures, Caroliney had just learned how to pull up.  She still does it all of the time on everything.  She has finally learned how to sit back down after pulling up.  When she first learned how to pull up, she was then "stuck" there and would cry until someone came and helped her to sit back down.  Silly girl. 


This is why they invited teething strips for cribs.



Sunglasses, sunglasses and more sunglasses

Lily loves sunglasses an abnormal amount.  I once bought a bag of 6 pair at a consignment store and the love began there.  Then she became obsessed with a pair of Ariel sunglasses and would insist on putting them on even while at school and going out to the playground.  In her class is a treasure box and the kids all get to pick something out of it on Fridays.  The parents are asked to bring in items for the treasure box.  So, after Halloween, I bought 2 bags of 8 pairs of sunglasses for a dollar each on sale.  I gave her one whole bag for herself--of 8 pairs!!!  And I sent 1 bag to school for the treasure box.  That Friday, I gave her strict instructions to NOT get a pair of sunglasses out of the treasure box.  I bet you can all guess what she came home with!!!!  Sunglasses.  Of course. 

Trick or Treating

I know I'm insanely late with a picture from Halloween night, but here it is!!  We had Ramsey and Robin and their girls, Marley and Lilah, up to our neck of the woods to Trick or Treat.  I love that both big girls are dressed very girly and both baby girls are gender neutral.  The dads took the big girls house to house while Robin and I and the babies passed out candy.  A great time was had until Robin discovered her phone was lost.  Yikes.  That's never fun.  In the weeks after Halloween, Lily told me several times how sad she was that it was over.
