Awfully Close to Being 2!!

Today is Lily's 22 month birthday!! It's insane to me that it was that long ago that she was born! I used to be overjoyed with each passing week because I was so battle-scarred from the nights of colic and so glad to have an older baby that didn't do those things any longer! I am still thrilled to be Lily's Mommy everyday, but as she gets closer and closer to 2, I see what is in store for me.

She loves to kiss and hug, and be kissed and hugged. She loves her babies and acting like a Mommy--telling them to sit on her lap and putting them to bed at night. She imitates me on the phone--I'll hear her repeating what I say right after I say it. She asks frequently to see her cousin Anna--which one, I'm not sure, because she likes them both a lot and her cousin Collin. She LOVES animals and Elmo and the Super Readers! She still loves being outside and has no fear when it comes to trying to do what the older kids are doing. She will push her little wagon to the top of the hill, get on and hang on for dear life--loving it the whole way to the bottom of the hill! She says a lot of words now and nods her head appropriately. She has FINALLY started to (sort-of) smile for the camera--she says "Cheese!" at least! I think she's insanely cute, but I may be a little biased.

However, she also has a big temper! She is emotional and dramatic and quite stubborn. Sometimes, she'd rather be put in time out than say "Sorry." Today, she challenged me all day long--ignoring me telling her "No" or ignoring me telling her to do something. She threw fits and whined. It was quite tiring! Anyway, I did get these cute shots of her in honor of her 22 month birthday. She loves to sit in toy boxes and pick the toys out from around her. Silly girl!!
