Lily's Broken Leg
Our little Lily broke her leg while jumping on a trampoline on New Year's Eve. It had a net around it and nothing out of the ordinary happened. Her cousin was on it with her, but I don't even think he was jumping. She literally just landed wrong and her tibia fractured. Apparently, this is sort of common. In fact, someone I work with told me that when her daughter was 2, she was walking on trampoline and her leg broke. We went to the ER where my parents live, but had to see an orthopedist when we got back home to get a true cast on it. Lily's first cast was horrible!!! She was in so much pain and so uncomfortable. She was awake all night, screaming and crying and writhing around. I moved up her follow-up appointment and insisted they cut her cast off and do something different. Of course, they acted like I was a crazy, stupid mom, but Lily is much happier now!! Her first night in her new cast, she slept for 14 hours. She still isn't walking much and finds it somewhat uncomfortable to sit on the floor, but she is doing well otherwise. Hopefully she'll get it off at the 4 week mark and not have to wear it for 6 whole weeks. Keep your fingers crossed!!!

Baby Torture
I bought this Christmas tree costume when Lily was a baby. Then Johanna and Chris put it on Anna when she was a baby. Of course, we had to put it on Caroliney as well. Caroliney is such a laid back and happy baby (except when it comes to sleep!) but she HATED this costume. She had a much stronger reaction than Lily and it cracked us up!! Poor thing.

Merry Christmas!!
Bryan and I left our kids with my parents the day after Christmas and came back home to do a lot of painting in our house for a few days. We also went on a helicopter ride, which was our Christmas present to each other. I actually got the ticket half priced through Groupon. It was a wonderful experience!!! The helicopter goes about 130 miles per hour, though it doesn't feel that fast while you are in it. We saw 2 other helicopters while we were in the air and that was pretty cool looking.

White Christmas
We spent Christmas at my parents house again. We were planning on spending Christmas morning in our own house and then driving there, but changed our plans last minute due to the weather. We had a wonderful time. Lily loves my sister's kids, so she was in heaven playing with them for days on end!! I didn't take a lot of pictures while we there, which I feel sort of bad about since it was Caroliney's first Christmas. Oops. We were too busy enjoying ourselves!! I did get one shot of Lily and Anna outside when the snow first started to fall.

As many people know, my mom does amazing gingerbread men every year. She makes one for family and friends and puts names on them and decorates them in clothes. They are adorable. Unfortunately for my mom, now we all want her to make them for our kids' classes. So, she made 9 for Lily's MMO class this year since I was one of the moms doing the Christmas party. She just wrote names on them and I bought decorating supplies so that the kids could decorate their own cookies. She sent some extras in case siblings came or someone broke theirs. So, Lily decorated all of the extras at home (plus one for a little girl who couldn't come to the party) with her Daddy the weekend after the party while I was at work. Here is her finished product. I think we've found someone to carry on the family tradition!! What do you think?
